Clock setup at home

It is really important to chose the correct location to home your clock as it is very sensitive and a bit of consideration now can go a long way to protecting & getting the most out of your timepiece.

1. Find a location OUT of direct sunlight – This is really important as direct sunlight can cause the case to dry out, expand & crack. It can also affect the accuracy of the timepiece.
2. LEVEL – For your clock to run efficiently it needs to be level & vertical. If it isn’t, your clock may NOT WORK.
   • It was quite common for mantle piece clocks to be levelled by using old one pence coins, which i would say is still perfectly acceptable & adds to the charm of the setup.
   • In the apple store there is an app called “Cuckoo Clock Calibration” This is a great app which listens to the beat of the clock & allows you to adjust the clocks level until it is correct.
